Central New Mexico Team Tournaments
The 2024 Central NM Team Chess League Finals are complete! This was another hugely successful event!
This turned out to again set a record as our largest event ever and as far as records are kept, was the largest ever chess tournament in New Mexico! We had 372 youth chess players turn out to play and compete for their school chess team! We ended up having fourteen different sections of players! Here are the full 2024 results.

The Central New Mexico Team Chess League is a program we run for our in person school clubs in New Mexico. All of our school club teams attend and any other school chess club is welcome to attend and compete as well!
The Central New Mexico Team Chess League started in 2012 as a project of Learners Chess Academy. This league is dedicated to serving as a team chess outlet for school chess clubs. Our aim is to give chess club participants a reason to work together within their club to develop all players, identify and develop club leaders, and to boost school spirit. We believe the pitfalls of chess as a solitary game are avoided when chess clubs develop around the idea of team and group success. We award team trophies that reflect the place each participating school achieves at each of our team tournaments. We also award medals to top finishing players from each school.
The bulk of the participating teams in this league are Learners Chess clubs. We usually get some non-Learners sponsored chess clubs that regularly compete in this league. If you would like your Central NM chess team to participate in this league, please use the contact form on this website to inquire about your team competing in our next tournament or just have them sign up.
Please feel free to scroll through the history of our league in these results tabs.
